The 2027 Subaru Lineup Is Arriving at Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport, WV!

As temperatures begin to drop across West Virginia, preparing your vehicle for winter becomes more important than ever. From icy mornings in Bridgeport to snowy mountain roads and unpredictable weather throughout North Central West Virginia, winter driving can bring additional challenges. At Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport, WV, we want to help drivers feel prepared for the season ahead. Taking care of a few important maintenance items now can help prevent inconvenient surprises later. Here are five things to check before winter weather arrives. 1. Check Your Tires and Tread Depth Your tires play an essential role in how your vehicle handles wet, snowy, and icy roads. Before winter arrives, inspect your tires for worn tread, uneven wear, and proper inflation. Cold temperatures can cause tire pressure to decrease, making regular checks especially important. Although Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive can help provide traction, the condition of your tires still makes a major difference in braking, steering, and overall vehicle control. If you frequently travel through snowy or mountainous areas, consider whether winter tires may be appropriate for your driving needs. 2. Test Your Battery Cold weather can make it harder for an aging battery to start your vehicle. If you've noticed slow engine starts, dim lights, or other electrical concerns, it's worth having your battery inspected before temperatures drop further. A battery test can help identify potential issues before they leave you stranded on a cold morning. 3. Inspect Your Brakes Reliable braking is essential throughout the year, but it becomes particularly important during winter. If you hear unusual noises, notice vibrations, or experience changes in braking performance, schedule an inspection. Having your brakes checked can help identify worn components and ensure your vehicle is prepared for changing road conditions. 4. Check Fluids and Windshield Wipers Visibility and proper vehicle maintenance are especially important during winter. Before colder weather arrives, check your windshield wipers for streaking, cracking, or poor performance. You should also ensure your windshield washer fluid is suitable for freezing temperatures. Other important fluids, including engine coolant and engine oil, should be maintained according to your vehicle's recommended service schedule. 5. Keep Up With Routine Subaru Maintenance Routine maintenance helps keep your Subaru operating as intended throughout every season. Depending on your vehicle's mileage, age, and maintenance schedule, winter preparation may include an oil change, tire inspection, battery test, brake inspection, or other recommended services. Staying ahead of maintenance can help you avoid unexpected issues and keep your Subaru ready for everyday driving. At Jenkins Subaru, some of our favorite moments happen when we get to spend time with our community. We recently joined the Trunk or Treat event at Texas Roadhouse, bringing a decorated Subaru Outback Wilderness and plenty of candy for kids to enjoy. For the evening, our Outback Wilderness traded outdoor adventures for Halloween festivities. We decorated its trunk, stocked up on treats, and welcomed local families as they made their way through the event. It was a fun opportunity to celebrate the season and connect with our neighbors outside the dealership. A Little Candy, a Lasting Connection Trunk or Treat events give families a chance to enjoy time together and give local businesses an opportunity to be part of those memories. While our contribution was simple—a decorated trunk and candy—we were grateful to help create an evening that children could look forward to. Community involvement takes many forms. Sometimes it means supporting an important cause, and sometimes it means showing up, sharing a smile, and helping make a holiday a little more special. Both matter because strong communities grow through everyday connections. For our team, attending was a reminder that being a local dealership means being part of the lives of the people around us. The families we meet at community events are our neighbors, and we appreciate opportunities to get to know them beyond a visit to our showroom. An Outback Wilderness Ready for Halloween The Subaru Outback Wilderness made a festive centerpiece for our Trunk or Treat setup. Usually associated with exploring the outdoors, it took on a different kind of adventure as we transformed its cargo area into a Halloween candy stop. We enjoyed putting a seasonal twist on one of our vehicles and sharing it with families throughout the event. Thank You to Texas Roadhouse and Our Community Thank you to Texas Roadhouse for hosting the Trunk or Treat and bringing businesses and families together. We also appreciate everyone who stopped by our decorated Outback Wilderness to say hello and pick up a treat. At Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport, WV, we’re proud to participate in the moments that bring our community together. Thank you for letting us be part of your Halloween celebrations!

At Jenkins Subaru, giving back to our community goes beyond the showroom. This October, we were proud to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the importance of early cancer detection by welcoming Bonnie's Bus and LUCAS to our dealership in Bridgeport, West Virginia. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Jenkins Subaru hosted both mobile screening units from the WVU Cancer Institute, bringing breast and lung cancer screening services directly to our community. By partnering with these important healthcare initiatives, we helped make preventive screenings more accessible to residents of Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Fairmont, and surrounding North Central West Virginia communities. Two Mobile Screening Units, One Important Mission Early detection plays a critical role in improving cancer treatment outcomes. Unfortunately, for many West Virginians, accessing routine screenings can mean traveling long distances or navigating other barriers to healthcare. That's where Bonnie's Bus and LUCAS make a difference. Both programs are part of the WVU Cancer Institute's Mobile Cancer Screening Program, which travels throughout West Virginia to bring essential screening services closer to home. By hosting both units on the same day, Jenkins Subaru was proud to provide a convenient location where eligible community members could prioritize their health. Bonnie's Bus: Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Bonnie's Bus is a mobile mammography program dedicated to improving access to breast cancer screenings throughout West Virginia. Equipped with advanced 3D digital mammography technology, Bonnie's Bus provides screening mammograms and breast health education to women, including those in rural and underserved communities. The program was established in honor of Bonnie Wells Wilson, whose experience with breast cancer inspired a mission to make screening services more accessible to women across the state. During its visit to Jenkins Subaru, Bonnie's Bus helped bring that mission directly to our local community. Hosting the unit during Breast Cancer Awareness Month was a meaningful opportunity to encourage conversations about breast health, preventive care, and the importance of following recommended screening guidelines. LUCAS: Bringing Lung Cancer Screenings to Our Community Alongside Bonnie's Bus, Jenkins Subaru was also proud to welcome LUCAS (Lung Cancer Screening), a mobile screening unit operated through the WVU Cancer Institute. LUCAS travels throughout West Virginia to provide low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screenings to eligible individuals, particularly those in communities with limited access to screening facilities. Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in West Virginia, making access to early detection especially important. LUCAS uses specialized imaging technology to help identify potential signs of lung cancer at earlier stages, when treatment may be more effective. The program primarily serves eligible adults ages 50 to 80 with a qualifying smoking history who currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years. By bringing LUCAS to Jenkins Subaru, we were able to help connect our community with an important healthcare resource that may otherwise require additional travel. Why Community Cancer Screenings Matter in West Virginia For residents of rural West Virginia, convenient access to healthcare isn't always guaranteed. Distance, transportation challenges, and financial limitations can make it difficult for individuals to receive recommended preventive screenings. Mobile programs like Bonnie's Bus and LUCAS help bridge that gap by bringing specialized medical equipment and healthcare professionals directly into local communities. Both programs accept eligible patients with insurance, and financial assistance may be available for qualifying uninsured individuals. At Jenkins Subaru, we believe that supporting initiatives like these is an important way to give back to the people and families who support us every day. More Than a Dealership: A Commitment to Our Community As a Subaru dealership serving Bridgeport and North Central West Virginia, we're committed to making a positive impact both inside and outside our showroom. From supporting local animal shelters through Subaru Loves Pets to partnering with healthcare organizations during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're always looking for meaningful opportunities to serve our neighbors. Hosting Bonnie's Bus and LUCAS was another reminder of what can happen when local businesses and healthcare organizations work together toward a shared goal. While October shines a spotlight on breast cancer awareness, the importance of early detection, preventive healthcare, and community support continues throughout the year. Thank You to Our Community and Healthcare Partners We want to extend a sincere thank you to the WVU Cancer Institute, Bonnie's Bus, LUCAS, and the dedicated healthcare professionals who helped bring these important screening services to Jenkins Subaru. We also appreciate everyone who participated, helped spread awareness, or encouraged a friend or loved one to prioritize their health. At Jenkins Subaru, we're proud to play a small part in making a big difference for our community.
