For 14 years, Subaru and local dealers like Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport WV, have been helping people with needs in our communities through the Subaru Share the Love event. Today, we're proud to say, with the support of local dealers like us, Subaru has become the largest automotive donor to the Make a Wish foundation and to Meals on Wheels. Subaru has also become the largest corporate donor to ASPCA and the National Park Foundation.
Here's how you can help Share the Love
When you purchase or lease a new Subaru during our Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru will donate $250 to a charity you choose. The Subaru Share the Love event will officially end January 3rd, 2022. But when you purchase or lease a new Subaru by that date, you will have until January 15th to select the charity you want to receive Subaru's $250 donation.
When you purchase or lease a new Subaru, your love gets extra mileage
At Jenkins Subaru, we love showing love to the neighbors in need all around us. That's why we're thrilled to add our contribution to the ones our customers facilitate through the Subaru Share the Love event. When you get a new Subaru from us, we will donate an additional $50 to United Way of Harrison County. When you service your vehicle at Jenkins Subaru, we will donate $5 to the hometown charities we support like our local United Way.
Charities supported by Jenkins Subaru include United Way of Harrison County, Meals on Wheels, ASPCA, the Make a Wish foundation, and the National Park foundation. Our goal is to help support good causes in Bridgeport, Elkins, WV and other nearby communities.
How to select your charity
Charities supported by each Subaru retailer will vary. To see which charities are eligible for this event at Jenkins Subaru, just check out the Subaru Share the Love event and pick one or more charities that you prefer to get the $250 donation that Subaru will make in your name. If you pick more than one charity, that $250 donation will be divided evenly among the charities you choose.
If you're a neighbor from Buckhannon or Grafton, WV and you're still shopping for a new Subaru, no problem. Just make your purchase by January 3rd, 2022 and select the charity or charities of your choice from the eligible list by January 15th, 2022. If you've already purchased or leased a new Subaru at Jenkins Subaru, just go to our Share the Love event to direct your $250 donation to the charity you want.
Do I get a tax deduction for the $250 that gets donated in my name?
Because the donation comes from Subaru (and sometimes from Jenkins Subaru), the individual buyer doesn't qualify for a tax deduction. But to help you be assured that the money goes where you wanted it to go, you will get a letter informing you after the donation is made. If you forget to select the charity you prefer by January 15th of 2022, your donation will join those of other folks in a similar situation enabling more donations to eligible charities.
